Many thanks to Dave Kerber for putting together a great holiday party, and for his fantastic work as County Chairman. Changes are coming to the State Capitol, and with your help, we will steer the Treasurer's Office back on the road of fiscal stability!

Colorado Republicans Fall Retreat in Keytone Walker http://stapletonforcolorado.com/blogs/blog5.php/2009/09/27/colorado-republicans-fall-retreat-in-key 2009-09-27T13:00:55Z 2009-09-27T13:00:55Z What a fun 2 days. We spent friday night at the Dinner and a big congratulations to Jane Norton, and Josh Penry for there victories in the "straw poll". I got to catch up with a lot of old friends, as well as make some new ones!

The State Central Committee meeting saturday was well attended and went off without a hitch. It was exciting to see how much energy and passion all of the attendee's had. I want to thank the Colorado Republican Party for the opportunity to speak at both the dinner and the meeting. I look forward to spending much more time on the campaign trail, and making my case for why I am the only candidate that will reform our State Treasury from a rubber stamp for Bill Ritter back to a watchdog for the taxpayers!

Elbert County Republican Breakfast Walker http://stapletonforcolorado.com/blogs/blog5.php/2009/09/12/elbert-county-republican-breakfast 2009-09-12T17:15:18Z 2009-09-12T17:15:18Z Today I had the pleasure of attending the Elbert County Republican Breakfast. I couldn't believe seeing close to 100 people attend the event, and so incredibly ready for something other than "business as usual"! A big thank you to Tom Peterson for organizing the event, and for Scott Wills leadership in the county. I have no doubt Elbert County will continue to be Colorado's #1 Republican county for many years to come!

Colorado State Fair/Pueblo County Republicans Steak Fry Walker http://stapletonforcolorado.com/blogs/blog5.php/2009/08/30/colorado-state-fair-pueblo-county-republ 2009-08-30T14:24:58Z 2009-09-01T14:30:01Z I got to spend some time at the State Fair with the Pueblo Republicans greeting guests as they came by the booth. People are ready for real change, and for someone to stand up to the "inside the capitol" club. Thats exactly why I am running for State Treasurer!

After the State Fair I went over to Dr. Tom Ready's for the annual Steak Fry fundraiser. It was great to see so friends attend the not-to-be-missed event. Thanks to Dr. Ready for opening up his house for all of us, and to Linda Sorenson for all your help with the campaign! It's hard to believe we will have to wait another year for this fantastic event!

Arapahoe County Republicans Mens Club Breakfast Walker http://stapletonforcolorado.com/blogs/blog5.php/2009/08/12/arapahoe-county-republicans-mens-club-br 2009-08-12T14:22:11Z 2009-08-13T14:33:01Z I had the great pleasure of being the featured speaker at the Mens Club breakfast this morning. As taxpayers, we should all have serious concerns with the health of the state finances, and I laid out how I would be a much more proactive State Treasurer then the current occupant of that office. It is so important that we honor TABOR, and allow the voters to decide on tax increases that affect us all. We shouldn't rely on the Colorado Supreme Court to give a rubber stamp to the current administration whenever they want to increase "fees" to pay for their overspending, and mismanagement of state funds.

Thanks Mary for giving me the opportunity, and as a resident of Arapahoe County, I look forward to MANY more visits to the always exciting Mens Club!

Pueblo County Republican Central Committee Meeting Walker http://stapletonforcolorado.com/blogs/blog5.php/2009/08/11/pueblo-county-republican-central-committ 2009-08-12T02:11:09Z 2009-08-13T14:18:41Z I have to say how impressed I am with the organization Dave Dill has created in Pueblo County. There were more than 30 people attending the central committee meeting, and the energy was fantastic. We heard from Vera Ortegon about the upcoming municipal elections in Pueblo, and the Democrat effort to create a Mayor for the City that would effectively make the City Council obsolete. If you vote in Pueblo I encourage you to chat with Vera and be informed!

Many thanks to Dave Dill for inviting me to speak, and I look forward to many more visits in Pueblo!
