It was so gratifying to witness so many republicans coming together to strengthen our party! As I travel around the state the same theme emerges “We can’t beat each other down. We are all working for a common goal of electing Republican Candidates and that must be our focus”. Which are very encouraging words!
Thank you Jackson County Republicans for being so kind and welcoming! I look forward to working with you in the future to further promote our goals as Republicans, and get our party back on track!
Spent a great evening up in Routt County at the annual Lincoln Day dinner. Chairman Jack Taylor can pack a room with Republicans! Congressman Mike Coffman and State Chairman Dick Wadhams gave very energizing speeches about how we can and must come together as a party, united in our commitment to end the spend-and-tax policies of Gov. Bill Ritter and State Treasurer Cary Kennedy. I’m looking forward to campaigning in the Yampa Valley and picking up strong support in this very key area of Colorado.
Always a hotbed for Republican activity, Weld County again proved why it is so key to statewide GOP victories. More than 350 loyal Republicans in attendance heard from House Minority Whip Cory Gardner and Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry about the great work they did this year standing up for taxpayers. It’s that same energy and no-nonsense commitment to fiscal common-sense that I want to bring to the job of State Treasurer. Something about the cheering crowd tells me Weld County Republicans agree.
I was very impressed with the turnout of more than 70 people at 7 a.m. on a Friday to talk politics – and discuss how we will take back the State Capitol in 2010! Thanks to Steve Terry, John Ransom and Kelsey Alexander for being such great hosts. I learned a lot about the fiscal health of Douglas County, due to the solid leadership of GOP county commissioners. A great roadmap for the policies all of Colorado should pursue.
It’s been true for years and years: One of the “must-attend” events for any Colorado GOP candidate is the Arapahoe County Men’s Club breakfast. I appreciate Men’s Club President Mary Wenke for giving me the opportunity to share a few thoughts about how Colorado’s fiscal policies have gone off track. I also want to thank Bo and Lynn Cottrell for introducing me to so many great Republicans (and not just from Arapahoe County!). I’m looking forward to many more Wednesday morning return appearances at the Men’s Club.
