I got to spend some time at the State Fair with the Pueblo Republicans greeting guests as they came by the booth. People are ready for real change, and for someone to stand up to the "inside the capitol" club. Thats exactly why I am running for State Treasurer!
After the State Fair I went over to Dr. Tom Ready's for the annual Steak Fry fundraiser. It was great to see so friends attend the not-to-be-missed event. Thanks to Dr. Ready for opening up his house for all of us, and to Linda Sorenson for all your help with the campaign! It's hard to believe we will have to wait another year for this fantastic event!
I had the great pleasure of being the featured speaker at the Mens Club breakfast this morning. As taxpayers, we should all have serious concerns with the health of the state finances, and I laid out how I would be a much more proactive State Treasurer then the current occupant of that office. It is so important that we honor TABOR, and allow the voters to decide on tax increases that affect us all. We shouldn't rely on the Colorado Supreme Court to give a rubber stamp to the current administration whenever they want to increase "fees" to pay for their overspending, and mismanagement of state funds.
Thanks Mary for giving me the opportunity, and as a resident of Arapahoe County, I look forward to MANY more visits to the always exciting Mens Club!
I have to say how impressed I am with the organization Dave Dill has created in Pueblo County. There were more than 30 people attending the central committee meeting, and the energy was fantastic. We heard from Vera Ortegon about the upcoming municipal elections in Pueblo, and the Democrat effort to create a Mayor for the City that would effectively make the City Council obsolete. If you vote in Pueblo I encourage you to chat with Vera and be informed!
Many thanks to Dave Dill for inviting me to speak, and I look forward to many more visits in Pueblo!
I had the great pleasure of attending the National Asian Indian Republican Association dinner featuring former Attorney General John Ashcroft. The evening was packed with good speakers and even better food! Attorney General Ashcroft gave a riveting speech that we most certainly won't forget. I want to thank Curt Cervany for all his help, and many thanks to the NAIRA board for putting on such a wonderful event.
Roasts are always a good time, and this one was no exception! Dave Kerber and Mary Wenke put on an evening full of fun, and laughter. Being a resident of Arapahoe County myself it's always nice to catch up with old friends that i don't see enough of. I was excited to announce that I have received the endorsement of former Congressman Tom Tancredo. It means a great deal to have Tom's support, as well as the support of long time activists Bo and Lynne Cottrell! You guys are the best!
